Reconcile a Xero account with your agent

Compare records with a statement while keeping native statement matching separate.

Read as Markdown

Prepare the statement and scope

Provide the actual statement file through an available file integration or chat attachment. Identify the Xero organisation, bank account and statement period, and use the statement’s actual opening and closing balances.

Investigate recorded activity

Your agent can inspect supported Xero records, compare them with the statement, identify differences and propose authorized corrections. Missing statement lines are not automatically missing accounting transactions. Check for existing records before creating anything.

Editing a bank transaction or recording a payment does not match it to a bank statement line or complete reconciliation.

Finish in Xero

Open Accounting → Bank accounts, select the intended account and use Reconcile to review statement lines against the existing records. If a reconciled record needs changing, use Xero’s interface and the returned native record link when available. The connector will not unreconcile and re-reconcile it for you.

Use authorized browser control when the session provides it; otherwise complete those website steps yourself. Verify Xero’s result before claiming completion.

Xero: Reconcile your bank account.

Give your agent the task

Ask for an explicit split between connector work and website work.

Example prompt

Compare this statement with recorded activity in the intended Xero organisation and bank account. Read our customer policies, explain differences and propose corrections. Identify native Xero matching or reconciliation steps separately. Do not attempt unsupported unreconcile/re-reconcile operations or mark work complete without verification.
