Reconcile a QuickBooks account with your agent

Compare a statement with posted activity, investigate differences and finish the native reconciliation.

Read as Markdown

Prepare the statement and scope

Provide the actual statement file through your agent’s available file tools or a chat attachment. Specify the company, bank account and statement period. Confirm the opening and closing balances from the statement; do not infer them from unrelated reports.

Investigate through the connector

Your agent can compare the statement with posted ledger activity, identify differences and propose supported corrections. It can use the TransactionList report’s Reconciled, Cleared and Uncleared filters, but those transaction filters do not establish the account’s last completed reconciliation date or statement period.

Changes need the appropriate company access and your authorization. Missing or ambiguous evidence should remain an open question.

Finish in QuickBooks

The connector cannot complete QuickBooks’ native reconciliation or inspect its unreviewed bank-feed queue. Use QuickBooks’ Reconcile screen for the selected account and statement.

If your session has authorized browser control, your agent can continue there within the authorized task. Otherwise, ask for precise manual steps. Confirm the company, account and period, and verify QuickBooks’ saved result before treating reconciliation as complete. Never substitute an undocumented endpoint for the website step.

Give your agent the task

Start with investigation and a clear approval boundary.

Example prompt

Compare this bank statement with the intended QuickBooks account for the statement period. Read our saved customer policies, identify differences and propose corrections. Tell me which steps require QuickBooks’ website, and do not report native reconciliation complete unless its saved result has been verified.
